Position Summary
KEVIMD Digestive Disease & Wellness Associates, PLLC is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and team-oriented Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing gastroenterology practice in Abilene, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate or an NP/PA with no prior gastroenterology experience who is eager to learn and grow in a supportive private practice environment. Experienced practitioners in Gatroenterology welcome.
Our practice specializes in comprehensive digestive health, liver disease management, preventive care, and wellness services. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with excellence, compassion, and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients in outpatient clinic under physician supervision
- Perform new patient consultations and follow-up visits
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for gastrointestinal conditions
- Manage common GI conditions including:
- GERD / reflux
- IBS
- Constipation / diarrhea
- Abdominal pain
- Fatty liver disease
- Cirrhosis
- Crohn’s disease
- Ulcerative colitis
- GI bleeding
- Anemia
- Dysphagia
- Nausea / vomiting
- Gastroparesis
- Pancreatic disorders
- Review labs, imaging, pathology, and procedure reports
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with referring providers
- Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and procedures
- Assist with FibroScan evaluations and interpretation
- Support colon cancer screening and preventive GI care
- Collaborate closely with supervising physician and clinical staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in ECW EMR
- Ensure compliance with practice protocols and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas (or eligible for licensure)
- Board Certification as FNP, AGNP, or ACNP
- DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn gastroenterology and procedural medicine
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
Experience
- No prior gastroenterology experience required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
- Previous internal medicine, family medicine, or GI experience is a plus but not required
