. This is a contract, on-site position that offers an excellent opportunity for an advanced practice provider to deliver high-quality patient care in a critical care setting while enjoying the flexibility of a locum assignment.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing critically ill patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the highest standards of care in a fast-paced environment. You will play a vital part in supporting the practice’s mission to provide exceptional healthcare services to the Chattanooga community, working alongside experienced professionals who value teamwork and clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in an on-site medical practice setting
- Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary teams to manage complex cases
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed in critical care units
- Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner in electronic medical records
- Participate in rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making for critical care patients
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health management
- Ensure compliance with medical practice protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain effective communication with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
- Stay current with advancements in critical care medicine and best practices
Requirements
- Associate-level experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Current and valid NP or PA licensure in the state of practice
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Experience in critical care or acute care settings
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care
- Flexibility to work on-site in Chattanooga on a contract basis
Schedule: 7p-7a, specific dates
Nightly Volume: 12 patients
Required Procedures: Intubations, central line placements, arterial line placements
Support Staff: MDs and APPs
Must be board-certified
BLCS & ACLS required
Paid travel and expenses
