Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Wylie Walk In Urgent Care

Wylie Walk In Urgent Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a NP/PA, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and delivering high-quality services. The ideal candidate will provide urgent care to patients of all ages. Must be available and willing to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive Urgent care services to patients, including toddlers and children, teen, adults, and elderly

– Conduct physical assessments and health screenings

– Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and injuries

– Manage chronic health conditions and coordinate care with specialists as needed

– Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

– Perform minor procedures such as suturing and abscess drainage

– Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention

– Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories

– Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs

– Prescribes, recommends and/or employs medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures or performs indicated procedures in accordance with approved policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost. Recommends interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks

Requirements:

Ability to work extended hours (Mon – Fri: 9a-9p) and every other weekend (Sat/Sun: 10a-4p) and Holidays

– Candidates must have at least 3 years of urgent care/emergency department (NP or PA) work experience

– Must be proficient in English (Spanish preferred but not required)

– Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

– Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

– Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus

Expected hours: 12 – 36 per week
