Qualifications
Education:
- Candidates must be graduates of an approved Master of Physician Assistant Studies (or higher) program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission or a Master of Science in Nursing (or higher) program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or its predecessors.
- Foreign medical graduates must pass the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) test, as given by the ECFMG. Candidates shall meet all Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements. CME requirements are the responsibility of the candidate and shall be obtained at no cost to the organization.
Certification:
- Certifications required under these qualifications are the responsibility of the candidate and shall be maintained at no cost to the organization.
- Candidate must have and maintain a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Possess National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification or certification through either the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Association of Nurse Practitioners and be eligible for employment per Alt 40-48, Non-Physician Health Care Providers.
- Be board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants or, if a nurse practitioner, either the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Licensure:
- Candidates are required to have and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted medical license to legally practice in at least one (1) of the 50 states in the United States or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
- Candidate HCP shall also have and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number (certificate). The license must correspond to the DEA registration number.
- Candidate personnel are also required to comply with any applicable state laws concerning their profession. Licenses required under these qualifications are the responsibility of the candidate and shall be maintained at no cost to the government. DEA registration for prescriptive authority, if applicable.
Experience:
- Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience within the last 2 years providing services as a PA or NP with one (1) year in a clinical setting. While providing services under this contract, contract personnel are required to comply with any applicable state laws concerning their profession. Prior experience in government healthcare facilities or public health is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Proficient in using EHR systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-demand environment.
Work Environment
- Setting: Outpatient
- Hours: The candidate shall be available to provide support Monday thru Friday from 0600 to 1800 daily. The department shall establish a schedule for candidates to perform services on various shifts, which will normally range 8 hours. Each shift shall include 30 or 60 minutes for lunch, which may vary depending on the section and/or specific shift assigned. Duty hours are expected to average 40 hours per week.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform medical procedures for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up patients, as required for patient care.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $129,000.00 – $141,440.00 per year
