Full Job Description
Bahia Medical Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our San Antonio clinic at 10513 Marbach Rd, Suite 102, San Antonio, TX 78245. This role is ideal for providers passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an urgent care setting.
Location and Schedule: Our clinic operates from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends. This part-time position offers flexible shifts, including occasional weekend and holiday availability.
Responsibilities: As a valued team member, the PA/NP will:
- Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for urgent care patients of all ages.
- Provide holistic care, including health counseling, management of health concerns, and patient education on topics such as pregnancy and STI prevention.
- Administer immunizations and injections (e.g., COVID-19, flu, TB, Depo) and provide evidence-based vaccine counseling.
- Document patient interactions in the EHR system and ensure proper coding and billing for services rendered.
- Maintain compassionate, ethical care aligned with our mission and values.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
- Active DEA license
- NCCPA certification (for PAs) or ANCC/AANP certification (for NPs)
- Family Nurse Practitioners must be qualified to care for all age groups
- Bachelor’s in PA Studies or Master’s in Nursing for NP roles
- Current BLS certification and EHR proficiency
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Athena EHR
- Experience in urgent care, ER, or primary care settings
- Skills in basic x-ray interpretation and suturing
- Master’s degree in PA studies or related field for PAs
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- DOT Certification may be required. If you are not currently certified, we will register you for the training at no cost to you.
