Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Main Observation Unit team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients in the Main Observation Unit.
- Manage patient care plans, monitor treatment progress, and adjust as necessary.
- Perform procedures and interventions as required within scope of practice.
- Coordinate with emergency department (ED) and inpatient teams to ensure seamless transitions of care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs and imaging.
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in an Emergency Room (ER) or Urgent Care (UC) setting.
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Texas.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP-C, ACNP, or FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70.00 – $80.00 per hour
