Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse patient populations, including children and geriatrics, and will be skilled in providing high-quality care in various settings such as clinics, assisted living facilities, and acute care environments. The Nurse Practitioner will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients, managing their overall health, and promoting wellness.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies.
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care for patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety within the clinic or facility.
- Stay current with best practices in healthcare delivery through continuous education and professional development.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience working with children, geriatrics, or in ophthalmology preferred.
- Proficiency in acute care practices and familiarity with assisted living environments is a plus.
- Proficient in Urgent Care procedures
- Proficient in IV infusions
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make sound clinical decisions.
- Knowledge of infection control measures and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Job Types: Part-time, PRN, Per diem
Pay: $55.00 – $65.00 per hour
