Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care and exhibit a commitment to providing high-quality medical services. This role requires proficiency in various clinical practices, including but not limited to acute care, pediatrics, and geriatric. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse settings.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, providing comprehensive care plans.
  • Administer medications and injections while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care in various settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care for patients.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance treatment protocols and patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients regarding health management, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure the confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

  • Current NP/PA license with relevant certifications in your specialty area.
  • Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or hospital settings is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with pain management techniques including acute pain management and behavioral health considerations.
  • Knowledge of infectious disease care, geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice & palliative medicine is preferred.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using sonography or medical imaging techniques when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.

Pay: $65.00 – $75.00 per hour
