Job Summary
The Sleep Medicine NP/PA will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the supervising physician, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome. This role involves both in-clinic and telemedicine-based patient interactions, emphasizing education, compliance, and ongoing management of sleep therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including detailed sleep and medical histories.
- Order sleep studies (HST, In lab studies) and other diagnostic tests.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with sleep-related disorders.
- Educate patients on sleep hygiene, CPAP therapy compliance, and lifestyle modifications.
- Manage follow-up visits and monitor patient response to therapy.
- Collaborate closely with supervising physicians.
- Document all patient encounters accurately in the EMR system.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and practice policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education programs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current, unrestricted Texas license as an NP or PA.
- National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
- DEA license (or eligibility) preferred.
- Sleep medicine experience preferred; training will be provided for motivated candidates with a background in internal medicine, pulmonology, or neurology.
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with sleep study interpretation and PAP compliance data (ResMed AirView, etc.).
- Experience using electronic medical records (eClinicalWorks or similar).
- Comfort with telehealth consultations and patient education.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and outcomes.
- Excellent time management, documentation, and organizational abilities.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Monday–Friday daytime hours; some flexibility for early/late patient schedules.
- Combination of in-office and telehealth visits.
- Collaborative environment with cross-functional sleep, cardiology, and primary care teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
