Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Conduct initial assessments, perform physical exams, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons.
- Surgical Support: Provide perioperative care, including pre- and post-operative patient management.
- Diagnostics: Interpret imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans) and order additional diagnostic tests as necessary.
- Treatment Implementation: Perform joint injections and other procedures within the scope of practice.
- Patient Education: Counsel patients on diagnoses, treatment options, post-operative recovery, and preventive care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Current Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) and licensure in Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in orthopedics, surgery, or a related specialty (new graduates with strong orthopedic rotations are welcome to apply).
- Advanced proficiency in musculoskeletal assessments, diagnostic skills, and minor procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, collaborative clinic environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with electronic medical record systems.
- Familiarity with outpatient surgical workflows and orthopedic-specific procedures.
- ACLS/BLS certification.
