Job Description:

We are seeking a certified Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be certified to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations and will play a crucial role in conducting thorough medical evaluations in compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct DOT physical exams as per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines.
  • Evaluate patients’ medical history, perform physical examinations, and determine their fitness for safely operating commercial vehicles.
  • Provide clear explanations to patients regarding their health evaluation and fitness determination.
  • Maintain accurate and secure medical records for all examinations conducted.
  • Collaborate with our medical team to enhance patient care and compliance with health regulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest changes in DOT regulations and continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote health and safety in the transportation industry.

Requirements:

  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas.
  • Certification to perform DOT physical exams, having completed the required training and listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in occupational health, family medicine, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all medical documentation meets regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
