Qualifications We’re Looking For:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- CME: Up-to-date Continuing Medical Education documentation
- Licensure: Active, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license
- Certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through the AHA or ARC
- Experience: 24 months in General Surgery or Orthopedic care within the last 36 months
- Security Requirements: Must pass a national agency check inquiry (NACI) and drug screening

Job Duties:
- Performs minor surgeries and other therapeutic procedures as necessary.
- Performs history and physical exams; orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests; diagnoses and treats surgical patients, includes telephone contacts for results reporting and answering patient questions.
- Performs examination of urgent or emergent patients and consults with the Surgical Flight or Emergency Department in lieu of a surgical resident or surgical staff physician.
- Performs administrative duties, which may include but are not limited to, maintaining statistical records of clinical workload, participating in medical education programs, participating in quality improvement functions, and other duties as prescribed by the Flight Commander or designated Government representative.
- Treats patients with compassion and empathy, recognizing and respecting cultural diversity, and adapting communications to the patient’s ability to understand. Uses professional phone techniques, effective and concise Verbal and written communication, and medical terminology appropriately. Receives, organizes, prioritizes and transmits information.

Pay: $55.00 – $64.00 per hour
