Job OverviewJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to work in an Orthopedic setting and join our team. The PA will work closely with orthopedic spine surgeons to provide comprehensive care to patients with spine-related conditions. Responsibilities include assisting in surgery, conducting patient evaluations, performing diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and providing post-operative care. This role requires a strong understanding of spinal anatomy, musculoskeletal conditions, and surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist orthopedic spine surgeons in the operating room, including first-assist duties.

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans) and laboratory tests.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including non-surgical and surgical options.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative patient education and care management.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, nurses, and pain management specialists.
  • Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Stay updated on advancements in orthopedic spine treatments and procedures.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

  • Current PA-C certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • State licensure as a Physician Assistant (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Prior experience in orthopedic or spine surgery preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of spine-related conditions, treatments, and surgical techniques.
  • Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical and surgical setting.

Work Environment & Schedule:

Combination of clinic, hospital, and operating room settings.

  • May require on-call duties and flexible hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 – $155,000.00 per year
