Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant with Orthopedic Surgery experience to join our healthcare team in providing comprehensive patient care across various settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, including hospital, surgery center and outpatient care, with proficiency in EMR systems and dictation. This role involves performing physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, ordering imaging studies, performing in-office injections, medication administration, patient assessments, telemedicine visits and assisting an orthopedic surgeon in surgeries, while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.. The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care within a dynamic environment that emphasizes critical care, acute pain management, and specialized medical procedures.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments to determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Manage orthopedic conditions such as meniscus tears, ACL tears, rotator cuff and labral tears of the shoulder, clavicle fractures, ankle fractures, hip pain, elbow pain and foot/ankle pain.
- Perform procedures such as in-office injections, phlebotomy, and assisting in surgery with patient positioning, retraction, suturing, placement of dressings and postoperative bracing/slings.
- Utilize EMR systems and dictation for accurate documentation of patient data, medical records, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and data management.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations including medical imaging and laboratory testing; interpret vital signs and physiology data
- Engage in telehealth consultationa.
- Ensure infection control practices adhere to HIPAA standards and aseptic techniques during all procedures.
Requirements
- Certification as a Physician Assistant with current licensure; experience administering injections and performing physical exams required and operating room experience.
- Proven proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding essential.
- Extensive clinical experience including outpatient care and operating room experience
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations;
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments such as aurgycal or hospital settings. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $108,994.80 – $131,262.55 per year
