Schedule: 20 hours per week to start, with potential for full-time
Practice Type: Solo private woman-owned colorectal surgery practice
About the Role
Houston Community Surgical is hiring a part-time Physician Assistant to support a growing solo colorectal surgery practice based in The Heights. This is a dynamic, flexible role offering clinical variety, strong mentorship, and a values-aligned work environment. You will work directly with Dr. Ritha Belizaire, a colorectal surgeon and founder, to deliver patient-centered surgical care that is rooted in dignity, clarity, and common sense. Responsibilities:
- Respond to patient questions (clinical and logistical)
- Manage prescription refills and medication-related calls
- Conduct office and telehealth visits including post-operative follow-ups, colonoscopy screening visits, and pathology or lab reviews
- Document visits in EHR systems (Charm Health and Epic)
- Occasionally round on inpatients or respond to consults
- Future responsibility includes assisting in the OR (credentialing support provided)
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted Texas PA license and NCCPA certification
- 1+ years of clinical experience preferred (new grads considered)
- Bonus if experienced in surgery, though not required
