Job Title: Mid-level Provider: Physician Assistant (PA-C) / Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Schedule: Full-time; exempt salary

General Summary: As a Mid-level Provider at Arroyo Vista Family Medicine, you are an integral part of the patient care team providing quality, preventive-focused health care services to patients. Working collaboratively, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and on-going refinement of the patient care experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties accurately within the legal scope of a Mid-level Provider and maintain detailed documentation according to protocol. General duties include but are not limited to: obtaining complete, detailed and accurate histories; reviewing patient records to manage patient treatment plan and outcomes, ordering appropriate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies; providing assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient problems which includes the use and prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic intervention; and performing approved procedures such as incision and drainage, pelvic exams, lesion removal/destruction, suturing, etc.
- Practice evidence-based medicine within protocols, guidelines, and clinical pathways
- Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients
- Inform physician(s) about any problems or discrepancies that might arise
- Direct and evaluate throughput; delegates or provides backup assistance including triage
- Perform on-call (first call) duties on scheduled days
- Assist in Clinical Research as needed
- Provide accurate coding and documentation to streamline the billing process
- Complete medical records and submit charges in a timely manner
- Collaborate in the development and evaluation of patient care and help with the updating of clinical guidelines, protocols, and pathways
- Work autonomously and accept accountability for outcomes; sign orders in accordance with clinic protocol and state board requirements
- Adhere to all office policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service
- Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; support company-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff
- Exercise strict confidentiality in regard to patient care and all aspects of the practice keeping all sensitive and confidential information to self and out of reach to unauthorized persons
- Maintain knowledge of safety hazards and practice precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
- Hold a valid Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner License through the state of Texas
- Maintain an active Prescriptive Authority agreement for prescriptive authority under the delegation of a supervising physician in accordance with regulations and policy
- Have proven working experience as a Mid-level Provider in primary care
- Ability to provide expert clinical judgment and function independently
- Sustain a driven, positive attitude and maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that enable effective collaboration with physicians, staff, other healthcare facility workers, patients and their families in a manner that is clear both in written and spoken format
- Ability to successfully and efficiently work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining a high level of organization and prioritization skills
- Strong ability to strategically identify needs and offer solutions for efficiencies in our expanding practice
- Highly proficient computer skills including experience with electronic medical record systems
- Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate or be able to obtain it within 30 days of hire
- Ability to communicate in Spanish, strongly preferred
