Full Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist in the design or review/modification of existing clinical year curricula to deliver the UTMB PA Program’s mission and goals. Mentor, instruct and evaluate students assigned to rotation in the Victoria/South Texas area and oversee clinical preceptors at participating facilities and clinics. Help identify clinical cites, secure affiliation agreements, and perform site visits to evaluate students and facilities during the clinical year. Be responsible for orientation of preceptors at clinical sites regarding course objectives and expectations. Assist program director in carrying out other activities related to the program, as needed. Last, Adhere to internal controls established for the department and university on the clinical year by accrediting, licensing and other agencies or institutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s or higher degree from an accredited institution
  • PA candidate must have current NCCPA certification and be a licensed PA in the state of Texas or eligible for license in the state of Texas

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
