About the Role:
On Duty Health is seeking a part-time, as needed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support our growing team. This role requires current residence and licensure in Texas, and the ability to travel approximately 50% of the time. Additional licensure in CA, IA, MO, CO, or TN is a plus.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys flexibility and is available to provide coverage as needed. If you are seeking full-time hours or do not have a flexible schedule, this role will not be a fit.
On Duty Health provides on location occupational health assessments for firefighters across Texas and occasionally out of state.
Preferred Background:
Experience in Occupational Medicine is ideal, though providers with backgrounds in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting Standard Comprehensive Exams
- Detailed history taking (medications, supplements, allergies, medical/surgical history, family history, social history)
- Vision testing
- Audiometry testing
- Obtaining and interpreting vitals (temperature, manual BP, pulse, respiration)
- Reviewing and discussing lab results and chest Xrays
- Resting and stress test EKG interpretation
- Reviewing results from Exercise Physiologists and Sonographers
- Mental health questionnaires and verbal assessments
- Developing assessments, plans, and goals
Location & Schedule
- Most appointments occur in the DFW area, with travel throughout Texas and occasional out of state assignments.
- Expect to see 912 clients per day, with approximately 45 minutes per appointment.
