Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA) to join our orthopedic care team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical support to both patients and orthopedic surgeons, participating in evaluations, diagnostic interpretation, treatment planning, and follow-up care. You will play a key role in improving patient mobility and recovery outcomes through hands-on clinical practice and involvement in surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional care using evidence-based orthopedic practices while fostering positive communication and trust with patients and the broader care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed patient assessments, including histories and physical examinations
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging (X-rays, MRIs, etc.) to assist with accurate diagnoses
  • Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room, including preoperative preparation and postoperative care
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and administer injections as clinically appropriate
  • Perform procedures such as casting, splinting, and other immobilization techniques
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and rehabilitation strategies
  • Manage follow-up visits, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Qualifications

  • Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas
  • Orthopedic or surgical specialty experience preferred (training available for motivated candidates)
  • Excellent clinical judgement with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, patient-centered environment
  • Flexibility to occasionally provide coverage at our Kaufman, TX location

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
