Job Title: Physician Assistant
Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team serving both Dallas and Plano campuses. This is a dynamic opportunity to deliver high-acuity care to critically ill pediatric patients in a collaborative and fast-paced academic environment.
You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, managing a wide range of single and multi-organ illnesses in pediatric patients. This position offers flexibility in scheduling, a supportive team culture, and the opportunity to engage in clinical care, mentorship, education, and research.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced, evidence-based care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
- Perform and assist with advanced procedures including: arterial line insertion, central venous line placement, chest tube placement, intubation, lumbar puncture, and PICC placement.
- Participate in care planning, progress evaluations, and family education.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Rotate across variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a 24/7 coverage model.
- Participate in in-house night call rotation once orientation is complete.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all clinical policies and regulatory guidelines.
- 10-hour Evenings (1:00 PM – 11:00 PM) – Dallas Campus
- 12-hour Days/Nights (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) – Both Campuses
- Self-Scheduling: Required to complete at least 6 shifts per 4-week schedule block.
- Floating: May float between Dallas and Plano campuses.
- Dallas: 4–6 patients per day shift
- Plano: 6–8 patients per day shift
- Night call includes: managing assigned team patients and new admissions.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Certifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification from a nationally recognized certifying board.
- Licensure from the Texas Medical Board.
- Current certifications in BLS, PALS, and NRP.
Required Experience:
- Formal education in Acute Care Pediatric or Critical Care Pediatric PA programs.
- Prior experience in performing high-level procedures such as central lines, chest tubes, intubation, etc.

Pay: From $46.15 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week

- 12 hour shift
