North Texas Preferred Health Partners (NTPHP) is founded and run by independent Primary Care physicians with concierge medicine experience. Our goal is to provide you with personalized, quality health care, tailored to your needs and delivered in an unhurried, one-on-one, professional manner. NTPHP currently provides care at nine convenient locations across Austin and The DFW metroplex!

Purpose: Physician Assistant is licensed practitioner responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status) for patients who are seen, served, and treated by North Texas Preferred Health Partners (NTPHP). Physician Assistant reports to supervising NTPHP physician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat assigned provider’s patients. Document in patient’s medical record.
  • Provide patients with instructions and teach on medications and procedures
  • Answer phone calls and emails from assigned provider’s patients and document in chart
  • Communicate test results to patients and their families
  • Request records from prior practice or referring physician for assigned provider. Import records and preload charts, as needed
  • Maintain patient forms for assigned provider’s patients
  • Maintain assigned provider’s master spreadsheet
  • Notify front office of assigned provider’s daily patients who have not completed paperwork
  • Home nurse visits, as requested, by assigned provider
  • Provide backup call on nights and weekends, if required by physician
  • Maintain clean common space areas, including waiting room and workstations.
  • Protect patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
  • Provide coverage for other clinical team members, as needed, by placing patient’s needs above all others
  • Identify need for improvement in office process and recommend solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Practitioner Program
  • Two (2) years of experience in internal medicine practice
  • Must maintain a current NCCPA PANCE Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) | State License to Practice

Physical Demands:

Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the assigned physician. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping.
