Job Title: Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) Location: Cancer Clinics of North Texas Dallas | Plano | Sunnyvale Job Type: Full-time Reports To: Medical Oncologist

Job Summary:

Cancer Clinics of North Texas is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dynamic oncology team. The APP will be responsible for overseeing the infusion center, managing chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, and providing comprehensive follow-up care to oncology patients. This role includes collaboration with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Infusion Center Oversight:

  • Supervise and monitor patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion treatments.
  • Assess for adverse reactions and manage infusion-related complications in collaboration with the care team.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety protocols, guidelines, and treatment plans.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding their treatment, side effects, and supportive care measures.

Patient Care & Follow-up:

  • Conduct follow-up visits for oncology patients to assess treatment response, symptom management, and overall well-being.
  • Perform history-taking, physical examinations, and order/interprets diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and consult with oncologists as necessary.
  • Provide supportive and palliative care recommendations to improve the quality of life.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with urologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, infusion nurses, and support staff to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in tumor board meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with primary care providers and specialists to ensure continuity of care.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
  • Adhere to institutional, state, and federal regulations regarding oncology treatment and patient safety.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training related to oncology care advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing (NP) or a graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted NP or PA license in Texas.
  • Certification: Board certification as an NP or PA; Oncology certification (AOCNP) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in oncology or infusion medicine preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to work autonomously, excellent communication, and a commitment to compassionate patient care.
