Inpatient Physician Associates (IPA) was founded in 1999 by a group of physicians dedicated to providing Hospitalist coverage across acute and post-acute settings in North Texas. Since then, Inpatient Physician Associates has grown to nearly 40 affiliated providers practicing in multiple locations across Texas.
We have a dedicated clinical team of Physicians, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Transitional Care Coordinators. Our clinical team is managed by experienced, Board Certified Medical Directors. The Role
This is a full-time APP role in the DFW area. The APP selected will provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnosis, plans and prescribing treatments and managing health care regimens in collaboration with the designated physician(s) in a surgical center environment. The ideal candidate will be a flexible, patient-oriented team player. Schedule is Monday – Friday and 2 half Saturdays per month. The week the provider works a Saturday, they will receive a day off during the week.
A Brief Snapshot of Your Duties
- Obtain health histories, conduct physical examinations, provide daily patient care, patient/family education and discharge of patients from facility
- Attend multi-disciplinary rounds at site
- Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory tests
- Prescribe or recommend pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications
- Consult appropriate physician(s) for patient care needs
- Refer patients to appropriate sources of care as indicated
- Assure the efficient utilization of resources while supporting clinical pathway implementation and compliance
- Travel between sites in the DFW area

- Completion of a baccalaureate nursing program and Master’s Degree in an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas if a Nurse Practitioner
- Eligible for prescriptive authority in the State of Texas
