Physician Assistant-Urology | Permanent Role
- Location: College Station, TX, 77845
- Shift: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Guaranteed: 40 Hours
- Compensation: Based on experience.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Conducts comprehensive and focused physical and mental assessments of patients.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates lab and diagnostic tests to determine health conditions.
- Prescribes appropriate medications and therapeutic treatments while monitoring effectiveness, safety, and cost-efficiency.
- Develops and implements individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the physician and care team.
- Evaluates patient progress and modifies treatment plans accordingly.
- Provides patient and family education regarding medical conditions, treatments, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Advises on drug regimens, potential side effects, and interactions with food, supplements, and OTC/herbal remedies.
- Maintains detailed documentation of treatment plans and outcomes.
- Initiates referrals or consults when patient needs exceed scope of practice.
- Delivers specialty consultation services within the PA’s training and experience in Urology.
Key Success Factors:
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes, treatment protocols, and preventative care.
- Ability to diagnose and treat a wide variety of urologic conditions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in EMR systems and medical software.
- Competency in developing patient-centric, outcome-based treatment plans.
- Ability to educate and counsel patients effectively.
- Skilled in interpreting lab and diagnostic test results.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Experience: Open to new graduates (Less than 1 year of experience acceptable)
Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Texas
- BLS Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer)
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
