Physician Assistant-Occupational Medicine | Permanent Role

  • Location: College Station, TX 77845
  • Shift: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • Guaranteed: 40 Hours
  • Compensation: Based on experience.
Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Perform comprehensive or focused physical exams and obtain medical histories to assess patients’ physical and mental health.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate lab and diagnostic tests to identify patient needs.
  • Prescribe or recommend medical drug therapies, procedures, or interventions based on protocols, ensuring efficacy, safety, and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based, outcomes-focused treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to care and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Provide guidance on drug interactions, including over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and herbal remedies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.
  • Refer or consult with specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice.
  • Provide expert-level consultation for occupational health issues within the scope of training.

  • Strong clinical knowledge in diagnosing and treating injuries, diseases, and conditions.
  • Skilled in using EHR systems and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to educate and guide patients in lifestyle and behavioral changes.
  • Competent in developing and executing treatment plans.
  • Proficient in interpreting diagnostic and laboratory test results.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Experience: Open to new graduates; less than 1 year of experience required.

Licensure & Certification:

  • PA License: Must hold a current Texas PA license.
  • Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Must obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.
