Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is your community healthcare provider. With more than 600 healthcare professionals strong, our facility offers inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

Position Overview

The practice of the Physician Assistant provides for daily operations and maintenance of our surgical program. This position is essential to coordinating surgical services as part of an interdisciplinary team of caregivers. Responsibilities will include coordination of patient scheduling, comprehensive patient education, staff education, postoperative care, outcome management, physician outreach, and revenue integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, directs, and evaluates the activities impacting the progress of the Orthopedic program
  • Maintains expert knowledge of service specialty to include procedures, equipment, supplies, and surgeon preference
  • Establishes and maintains direct, collaborative working relationship with Specialty Surgeons
  • Assist Orthopedic surgeons in the OR as appropriate and credentialed
  • Facilitates the flow of patient care services
  • Coordinates the efficient flow of PHI
  • Works cooperatively with nursing services and ancillary departments to provide orientation material for all staff new to the program in addition to providing continuing education to existing staff
  • Works closely with the Director of Surgical Services to identify critical issues and develop strategies to address them

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
  • 2 years Physician Assistant Experience in an Acute Care Setting Preferred
  • Current Texas Medical Board License
  • Current DEA Registration
  • Current NCCPA Certification
