Full Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and manages infections.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimen, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Follows up on patients’ messages, prescription refills, and test results for themselves and the doctors to give a timely response to the patient.
- This job supervises Clinic personnel in all delegated or directive medical care duties.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current PA license in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified within 30 days of hire.
