Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Infectious Disease Clinic team. This role involves providing comprehensive healthcare to patients with infectious diseases and complex wound care needs. Ideal candidates will have experience in infectious disease and wound care and hold an active Texas state license.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests for infectious disease and wound care patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, collaborating with the supervising physician to ensure continuity of care.
- Perform procedures such as wound debridement and suturing, as well as administer treatments like IV antibiotics, wound care, and infection management.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans as necessary, providing education to patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, and preventive health practices.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and comprehensively in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in accordance with clinic protocols and legal guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in case reviews and clinic meetings to discuss treatment plans, best practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current, active NP or PA license in the state of Texas.
- Certification by an accredited NP or PA board (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA).
- Preferably 2+ years of experience in infectious disease and/or wound care settings.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in infection management and complex wound care.
- Knowledge of the latest best practices in infectious disease treatment and wound care protocols.
