Position Title: Physician Assistant

Immediate Supervisor: Office Manager

Position Summary: This role involves assisting surgeons during procedures, providing pre- and post-operative care, and educating patients about their treatment plans. The Physician Assistant will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring the smooth flow of operations in the operative room.

· Perform wound checks, suture and drain removals, and minor surgical procedures.

· Assist with patient and referring physician calls.

· Dictate operative and discharge summaries.

· Maintain clear communication with attending surgeons and any consultants regarding patient status both pre- and post-discharge.

· Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to provide exceptional patient care.

· Perform pre-operative assessments including patient history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.

· Monitor patient’s vital signs and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies.

· Assist with post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and patient education.

· Coordinate and facilitate the smooth and efficient discharge process for patients, ensuring a seamless transition from the healthcare facility to their homes or other care settings.

· Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.

· Develop and keep protocols current with collaborating physicians.

Qualifications:

· Required: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program

· Required: Current certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant in Texas

· Required: 2 years of surgical experience

· Required: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Required: Ability to work collaboratively and in a team environment

· Preferred: Proficient suturing skills preferred

· Preferred: Proficient EMR/computer skills

· Preferred: Bilingual
