We combine evidence-based practices with emerging therapies, offering IV vitamin therapy, diagnostic testing, supplementation, Stellate Ganglion Blocks (SGB), and innovative mental health treatments, including our guided ketamine program. Kuya provides a supportive, collaborative environment where patients receive personalized treatment in a setting designed to nurture healing and transformation.
Position Overview
Kuya is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide oversight for our Ketamine Program.
The Contractor will be responsible for administering and monitoring ketamine treatments, (optional) conducting psychiatric screenings, and ensuring that all safety and compliance protocols are upheld to the highest standard. This is a contract-based role with a required onsite presence during scheduled ketamine sessions.
Scope of Work
- Onsite Presence:
- Maintain a physical presence at Kuya during all scheduled ketamine sessions.
- Be available on-site within designated hours for ketamine sessions 3 days a week.
- Administration and Monitoring:
- Administer ketamine via intramuscular injection and oversee patient monitoring during treatment.
- Ensure patient safety throughout sessions.
- Safety Protocols:
- Implement and enforce clinical safety standards and emergency protocols.
- Monitor for potential adverse reactions and manage medical emergencies if they arise.
- Uphold stringent protocols to prevent diversion or misuse of controlled substances.
- Psychiatric Evaluation:
- Conduct psychiatric screenings for new clients to determine clinical appropriateness for ketamine treatment (optional)
- Review medical history, mental health status, and relevant diagnostic results.
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with prescribing authority in Texas.
- Current DEA registration with appropriate Schedule III authority.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong clinical judgment, emergency management skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Commitment to integrative, client-centered care models.
- Interest or experience in emerging therapies, mind-body medicine, and trauma-informed care is a plus.
