AS A SLEEP MEDICINE NURSE PRACTITIONER, YOUR DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Establish trusting relationships with each patient in a prompt, courteous and respectful manner
- Perform history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant and appropriate for age, gender, and clinical problem.
- Order appropriate study for diagnosing sleep issues.
- Review the results of the study with each patient
- Counsel and educate patients and families on the diagnosis and treatment options.
- Perform telemedicine visits either via phone or video.
- Prescribe sleep equipment, medication and DME as needed on a timely basis.
- Review compliance for DOT and/or FAA letters. Sign off on letters as needed.
- Create Certificate of Medical Necessity for Outside DME suppliers.
- Conduct peer to peers when required by insurance.
- Coordinate with our providers, DME department, front office teams and patients in office locations in Cool Springs, Clarksville and Murfreesboro (mileage reimbursement applies)
- Carefully adhere to HIPAA standards and procedures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of our patients’ personal and medical information in every interaction.
- Understand and practice regulatory standards and organization policies and procedures including but not limited to: OSHA, infection control, and patient care policies and procedures.
- Providers will be eligible for monthly productivity bonus
SKILLS & BACKGROUND YOU’LL NEED:
- Proven and advanced use of technology including and not limited to Dual computer screen processing, Eclinicalworks EMR, Voice over IP Phone system (including soft phone), Microsoft suite of products (email, teams, onedrive).
- Organization of workspace and optimization of time.
- Communication – advanced written, typing, verbal and listening communication skills.
- Ability to function confidently and thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment.
- Priority management – Able to perform a variety of tasks; often changing from one task to another without loss of effectiveness or composure and be able to perform under stressful conditions when presented with multiple requests in a short time.
Requirements:
- Actively licensed in the State of Tennessee as NP or PA-C
