Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal issues.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient history.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging results to guide treatment decisions.
- Manage chronic gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancers.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education on procedures and lifestyle modifications.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and dietitians, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to enhance patient management.
Clinical Research and Education:
- Engage in clinical research activities and contribute to advancements in gastroenterology.
- Stay updated on the latest research, techniques, and advancements in the field of gastroenterology.
- Mentor and provide guidance to medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Training: Completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology..
- Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in gastroenterology preferred. New graduates with outstanding training will be considered.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in gastroenterology. Proficiency in performing and interpreting gastrointestinal procedures.
