Nurse Practitioner Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans. This position requires a strong understanding of various medical practices and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for delivering care across diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and infectious disease management.

*Must be able to provide case logs

Case logs must be from past 24 months. No specific amount; except for special privileges like Intubation, Arterial Lines, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, CVC, Hemodialysis, Chest Tub, which requires at least 10 cases in the past 24 months or director supervision for at least the first 10 procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including taking vital signs and performing triage.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Provide catheter care and manage patients undergoing dialysis.
  • Perform sonography as needed to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication management.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records.

Qualifications

Looking for APP

Will be working clinical in ICU while MD is on call. This is 12 hr coverage. Days 7a-7p/ Nights 7p-7a needed

Looking for someone to cover 15 shifts a month

Must have TN license and have TN DEA (or easily transferrable one) at time of present

Must be Board Certified

Must have BLCS & ACLS

Must be able to perform these special procedures: intubations, central line placements, arterial line placements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification and state licensure to practice.
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in pediatrics and infectious disease care preferred.
  • Proficiency in performing vital sign assessments, triage, catheter care, and sonography.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient records.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
