Job Summary
In the spirit of the Good Samaritan, Cooperative Health serves as a safety net provider, delivering care with dignity and compassion to patients from all walks of life. Essential job functions
- See patients; document the visit; complete a superbill commensurate to the care provided
- Assist patients in the completion of paperwork related to their clinical and patient care
- Perform office-based procedures
- Be knowledgeable of and engage patients on population health clinical quality measures
- Engage, educate, and empower patients to take control of their personal health
- Coordinate care of the patient with members of the clinical team
- Responds to patient messages from support staff and other members of the office team
- Periodically serves as a preceptor for professional clinical students
- Attends Cooperative Health meetings and participate in all trainings
- Must have successfully completed a Physician Assistant program
- Must have an active (or plan to have an active) South Carolina PA license that is in good standing
- Must have (or plan to have) a current DEA and South Carolina controlled substance registration
- Current BLS certification (if ACLS certified, the BLS certification is waved)
- Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m
- Periodic early evening hours

- Ability to communicate with people from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to prioritize, organize and carry out work assignments independently and efficiently
- Ability to maintain appropriate degree of confidentiality
- Compassionate and personable with an exemplary bedside manner
- Sound judgment and expert decision-making abilities
- Proficient in use of electronic medical records – Athena – company EMR
- Excellent keyboarding ability
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Be able to sit, stand, stoop, squat for extended periods of time throughout the day.
- Standing or walking for extended periods throughout the day.
