Overview: Novant Health is seeking a Physician Assistant – Float to join our growing Charleston team. This is a hybrid role supporting both surgical services and clinic-based patient care, ideal for a dynamic PA looking to broaden their skills across multiple care settings. Position Summary: This float position plays a vital role in supporting surgical consults, first assist needs, and clinic coverage, with a flexible rotation across specialties depending on operational needs. The role includes pre- and post-op support, but is not exclusively surgical. Responsibilities Include:
- Provide first assist in OR when scheduled; maintain sterile technique and surgical standards
- Conduct patient evaluations, history and physicals, and pre/post-op assessments
- Rotate through clinic settings for new consults, follow-ups, and patient education
- Participate in inpatient rounding and call rotation as needed
- Collaborate with surgeons, APPs, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care
- Document all patient encounters per Novant standards
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification required
- SC Physician Assistant license (or eligibility)
- Minimum of 1 year of PA experience; surgical exposure strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to float across teams
