Basic Statement of Responsibilities
The Director of the Nurse-Managed Wellness Clinic (NMWC) provides strategic leadership for clinical operations, academic integration, and interprofessional education (IPE) within the Nursing and Allied Health programs at Allegany College of Maryland. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care while leading college-wide efforts to maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards. The Director fosters collaborative, team-based learning environments and aligns clinic operations with institutional, regulatory, and community priorities.This job description is an addendum to the Faculty Job Description.The NMWC, located in ACM’s Allied Health Building, presents innovative multidisciplinary clinical experiences for students in nursing and other allied health professions with a focus on community health and wellness. Essential Functions
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily clinic operations, ensuring alignment with clinical, educational, and strategic goals
- Manage budget, staffing, policies, and quality improvement initiatives
- Lead program development, evaluation, and community outreach efforts
Interprofessional Education (IPE)
- Design, implement, and evaluate interprofessional education initiatives across programs
- Promote team-based care and collaborative learning experiences for students
- Mentor faculty in integrating IPE into curricula and clinical settings
Regulatory Compliance
- Lead and coordinate compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, accreditation standards)
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training to ensure institutional compliance
- Oversee safety programs, including bloodborne pathogens, bio safety, and infection control
- Prepare for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews
Teaching & Clinical Practice
- Provide clinical instruction and supervise students in the wellness clinic
- Support student competency development and evaluate clinical performance
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and verify clinical compliance for the Allied Health students

Education, Experience, and Specialized Skills
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of three years of clinical and/or teaching experience and a background in community health, wellness, or public health.
- Current unencumbered RN license in Maryland or compact eligibility
- Current CPR certification required
Preferred:
- Nurse Practitioner certification and clinical experience (Family NP, Adult NP)
- Experience with interprofessional education and academic program development
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation, and compliance systems
- Leadership or administrative experience in healthcare or academic settings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Broad knowledge base of nursing theory and clinical skills
- Knowledge of health and wellness promotion
- Computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite, Point-n-Click (patient record system) and other College used software.
- Knowledge of educational and instructional technologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Organizational skills and time management skills are necessary
- Knowledge of statistics and basic algebraic function and concepts are necessary.
- Basic knowledge of math for medication administration.
