Brown Neurology is looking to add an Advanced Practice Provider to our team!
Job Description:
The position would consist of a combination of acute and longitudinal care in the outpatient setting. The Ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation and epidemiology of medical conditions.
Job Duties:
- Performs history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant, and appropriate for age, gender and clinical problem.
- Orders appropriate diagnostic studies
- Utilizes critical thinking to synthesize and analyze collected data.
- Develops, implements, evaluates, and alters the plan of care as needed.
- Counsels and educates patients and families.
- Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team.
Education:
If Nurse Practitioner:
Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant:
Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited PA Program.
Minimum 1-2 years working as an Advanced Practitioner

Experience:
- Neurology 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Must have graduated from an accredited program with a degree as a Certified NP or PA license (Required)
- Independently licensed in the State of Rhode Island
- Current CPR (BLS) certification must be maintained.
- Active Advanced Practitioner controlled substance license and DEA license for the State of Rhode Island required.
