Consider joining our team at Axon Psychiatry. We are a well-established psychiatric practice seeking a compassionate and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. In this role, you will provide patient care for individuals with mental health conditions, assist in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders, and collaborate with our dedicated team of psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for new and returning patients
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric conditions
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness and side effects
- Provide counseling and psychotherapy as appropriate
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor patients’ progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all findings in patient records
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all healthcare regulations
As a Physician Assistant with our team, you will also be involved with IV therapy to patients under the direction of our Psychiatric Providers. IV therapy plays a significant role in supporting mental health recovery and enhancing the well-being of our patients. The role will require direct patient interaction, including assessing suitability for treatment, administering therapy, and monitoring patients for any reactions or side effects. You will be expected to provide friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to all patients. You will support the Provider and our patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management. The expectation is to complete all activities in a timely manner with attention to accuracy and quality in your documentation. Ideal candidates thrive in a busy environment, working closely with a team, to provide high quality care to patients in situations which can at times be stressful. This is a clinical job that requires a physical commitment which may include substantial periods of standing or movement and lifting or assisting patients.
Qualifications:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania
- Experience in psychiatric care preferred, but not required
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Compassionate, patient, and effective communicator with an interest in mental health
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Certification in IV therapy administration.
- Previous experience in a 1099 or independent contractor role is a plus.
- Comfortable with flexible scheduling and working on a contract basis.
