Penn Medicine is Hiring for the Cardiac Surgery Progressive Care unit at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
Penn Medicine is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider to join the cardiovascular surgery progressive care unit (PCU) team at our main campus, The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) in Philadelphia, PA.
Position Details:
- Self-scheduling with some rotational requirements: weekends, nights, days
- 48-beds
- Triage, admissions, and consultation of patients directed to the PCU
- Significant autonomy accompanies this position
- Collaborates with cardiovascular surgeon and other interdisplinary team members to provide care for patients who require intermediate level of care pre and post-cardiac surgery procedures. Clinical management includes: heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, aortic aneurysm/dissection, valvular disease, arrhythmias, pre/post cardiac/lung transplant, ventricular assist devices (LVAD). Vasoactive medications are commonly managed on the PCU.
- Support from a full range of specialists
- System-wide EPIC EMR
Minimum Requirements include:
- Master’s prepared Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Pennsylvania state licensure and certification as an ACNP or PA-C is required.
- BLS, ACLS required
- Critical Care Nursing or Fellowship experience preferred; Advanced Practice Provider experience preferred
- Prefer 3-5 years of experience working within an inpatient or critical care setting but willing to train new to practice APP with 3-5 years of nursing or comparable experience
