Montgomery County Emergency Service, Inc. (MCES) is Hiring

We are looking for Per Diem Physician Assistants to join our team.

Work Schedule: Weekends Saturday and Sunday

Education/Experience Required: Graduate of Certified Physician Assistant Program and Certified by NCCPA. 1-2 years of experience in the Mental Health field, preferred. Must maintain biennial renewal of certification and earn 100 hours of CME every two years. Must have a valid Physician Assistant license in the state of Pennsylvania.

Job Duties: Primary responsibilities for the Physician Assistant

  • Thoroughly performs histories and physicals on newly admitted patients to MCES and appropriately records patient information on the medical record.
  • Documents all relevant data of a given patient’s progress while providing appropriate documentation on the medical status section of the patient transfer form when necessary.
  • Identifies normal and abnormal findings on histories, physical exams and laboratory studies and makes decisions regarding the appropriate management and treatment of medical conditions. Orders medical consultations as per protocol.
  • Manages routine primary care problems according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Places orders given by an MCES physician or consultant physician or via protocols onto Infoscriber. Orders placed by the physician assistant must be counter-signed by an MCES physician within 24 hours.
  • Initiates appropriate evaluation and management for urgent care and emergency situations according to the Medical Emergency Treatment Plan.
  • Provides counseling and instruction on common medical problems (die, medication, etc.), treatment and follow-up.
  • Demonstrates appropriate competence in working with patients from various populations including: MR, adolescents, geriatrics, etc.

Pay: $65.00 – $67.00 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Weekends only
