SUMMARY OF JOB:
The Physician Assistant (PA) functions as a physician extender and surgical assistant, primarily in the operative acute care setting, but may also provide support in the critical care unit upon request. In collaboration with the practice physician, the PA communicates, as appropriate, with the patients, physicians and other members of the health care team about changes in a patient’s clinical condition and testing results. The PA serves as a liaison, educator, and patient advocate, and functions within individual patient needs, physician orders, Redeemer Health System policy and procedures, and the Pennsylvania PA license.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 3 years surgical assisting experience
Demonstrated competency in Clinical assessment
Maintains National Certification with 100 hours of CME credits every two years
Passes National Boards every six years
Obtains and maintains medical staff privileges for hospital based clinical services with delineation of privileges and prescriptive rights defined by supervising physicians.
LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Physician Assistant licensed in Pennsylvania
Graduate of an accredited PA Program
CPR certified
