In our darkest hour, during a moment of desperation, we look for hope. Silver Linings Recovery Center provides hope and healing through clinical programming at our addiction treatment center in Langhorne; PA. Silver Linings Recovery Center is dedicated to the successful rehabilitation of patients struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction. We seek to educate patients, families and friends on the disease of chemical dependency and its co-occurring disorders.
We are currently hiring a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Outpatient treatment center.
Duties and responsibilities
To work with clinical team with patient behavior, management and supervision. Will provide patient psychiatric (if applicable) and physical evaluations with subsequent appropriate medication management. The Healing Arts Practitioner is considered part of the Clinical Team and will report to the Executive Clinical Director and receive medical oversight from the Medical Director.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provides individual counseling and completes related documentation.
- Provides Psychiatric evaluation and documentation (Psy.NP).
- Provides, Physical evaluation when appropriate.
- Provides medically assisted recovery evaluation.
- Provides medication management for psychiatric, general medical, and medically assisted treatment initiatives.
- In consultation with Executive Clinical Director, Medical Director, suggest, develops, amends and reviews all medical protocols, policies and procedures.
- Participates in Clinical Team meetings and staff meetings as assigned.
- Annual policy and procedure review for state, local and accreditation standards.
- Provides Medical oversight, collaboration and consultation with RNs, LPNs
Qualifications/Education
· A qualifying degree in the healing arts from a college or university
· Prescriptive rights in good standing including DEA and X-rider to prescribe buprenorphine.
· Experience in utilizing addiction pharmacology medication
· Licensure in the Commonwealth as a Physician’s Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse.
· Board Certification or equivalent in one or more of the following: General Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, or Addiction Medicine
All staff persons and volunteers shall receive a minimum of 6 hours of HIV/AIDS and at least 4 hours of tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases and other health related topics training using a Department approved curriculum.
Specialized knowledge, skills, abilities
- Knowledge of individual, family, and group therapeutic techniques.
- Possess the ability to interpret and guide staff in detecting individual crisis and family dysfunction and guide them through appropriate therapeutic techniques.
- Possess the ability to develop therapeutic counseling relationships with clients and their families.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques including interpretation of the DSM-V and knowledge of ASAM.
- Should have knowledge of the 12-step program
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to get along well with others and work well within a team.
Working conditions
Job requires candidate to be flexible and available on nights, weekends and holidays. Candidates must be able to work in difficult situations with clients that are substance abuse dependent and may or may not be diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis.
