Our company is looking for a highly motivated Surgical Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Strong organization and documentation skills.
- Good problem solving and/or decision making skills.
- Ability to react and perform under strict timelines and/or emergency situations.
- Frequent pre-op and post-op patient positioning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skiills
- Display professional competency in the OR.
- Provide health care services to patients under the direction and responsiblility of physician including assessing and educating patients.
- First assist surgeon in the operating room: Must be a trained individual able to participate in and actively assist surgeon in completing the operation safely and expeditiously.
- Ability to scrub and assist in multiple specialties including: Orthopedics, Trauma, Neurology, Robotics, Vascular, Urology, Colorectal, Breast, General, and Burn.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate surgeon’s preferences, specialty supplies, instrumentation and equipment.
- Identify and provide teaching for patient, families, and other health care providers.
- Frequent lifting to 20+lbs in addition to bending , reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling
Requirements:
- 2+ years working as a First Assistant in the operating room is preferred. Robotic training is a plus.
- Pennsylvania licensure and certification as a PA-C
- Surgical Critical Care experience
- BLS, ACLS required, ATLS preferred
