Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance professional to oversee and perform maintenance on plant equipment, mechanical systems, and facility infrastructure. This is a hands on role responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and efficient operations while providing hands-on technical support and guidance to staff members. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and Assistant Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all work complies with environmental, health, and safety policies; report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Coordinate daily maintenance priorities with plant leadership.
- Provide oversight, technical expertise, and hands-on support for maintenance projects involving tanks, pumps, piping, hoses, valves, motors, boilers, and related systems.
- Monitor and maintain functionality of processing equipment throughout the facility.
- Support laboratory operations by maintaining equipment reliability and safety compliance.
- Assist maintenance operations across facility areas including wash bays, plant systems, and auxiliary sites.
- Train and guide Maintenance Technicians on procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas, tank farms, and dock areas.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and reliability.
- Manage facility upgrades and improvement projects.
- Perform cutting, fabrication, and welding tasks.
- Conduct routine tank inspections for structural integrity and compliance.
- Coordinate seasonal snow removal with Transportation leadership.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment such as forklifts, pickup trucks, and excavators.
- Enforce PPE compliance and maintain professional safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant plant maintenance or related experience (or equivalent education/experience combination).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Maintenance, Business, or related field preferred; or Associate’s degree in hydraulics/heavy equipment.
- Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and hydraulics required.
- 2–3 years of welding experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Must provide and maintain personal tools required for the role.
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Frequently lift up to 70 lbs. and push, pull, or carry materials.
- Ability to climb, walk, stand, sit, reach, crawl, stoop, and crouch regularly.
- Ability to climb fixed ladders and work at heights with fall-protection equipment.
- Ability to safely work in confined spaces and wear respiratory protection.
- Ability to sit for extended periods when required.
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
