Full Job Description
Summary: Joining one of the largest independent private practice orthopedic groups in the US, this position will expand our patient access through an MSK Urgent Care/Walk in clinic care model next to our corporate headquarters in Allentown, PA. Treating MSK related injuries that are acute and sub-acute as well as commercial and work comp, this provider will be a key point of care provider for our network. Responsibilities are to provide help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, medical consultation as well as to act in a dyad administrative role for our newly expanded Orthopedic Urgent Care environment under the supervision of a physician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Practice independently in the clinic by treating patients with non-operative orthopedic conditions (e.g., room and prep patients; order x-rays; MRI’s, physical therapy, compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination)

EMR utilization for documentation, billing, MIPS, patient and physician communication,

Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing and wound care

Acute and Subacute patient care management from triage through stabilization and facilitation of any post visit care/referrals/patient education

Apply, remove, modify and adjust casts and soft goods; change dressings; remove sutures

Implement patient management plans, record progress, and assist in provision of care

Prescribe medications

Excellent communication skills, feedback and routine updates to the patient and to the employer for workers compensation services

Exercise good judgment when the need arises to consult/refer case to a specialty physician.

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and

Current Physician Assistant Certification, and
-
Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania

One (1) to three (3) years of surgical experience preferred
