Job Overview:

Shriners Children’s is looking for a full-time Physician Assistant to join our team at Shriners Children’s Portland. This provider will support our Orthopedics team and provide care to pediatric patients in a predominantly outpatient setting with some inpatient responsibilities. Schedule will be 4-10 hour weekday shifts with no nights, weekends, or call expected. The pay range for this position is $62.96 to $94.44/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend general and specialty orthopedic outpatient clinics, coordinating surgeries, diagnostic studies, and following up with patients and families
  • Obtain and document appropriate health histories and perform physical exams on orthopedic and rehabilitation patients
  • Order appropriate treatment and/or diagnostic studies
  • Make appropriate referrals as needed
  • Educate patients/parents regarding identified health conditions and findings
  • Communicate with community care providers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow up requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent degree required
  • NCCPA board certification required
  • Active Oregon Physician Assistant license required
  • Active DEA license required
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • 3+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in pediatrics and/or orthopedics highly preferred. New graduates will also be considered
