The Physician Assistant working in the community setting is an advanced practice nursing role responsible for providing an extensive range of comprehensive care services for patients both well and ill residing in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • The PA shall demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise in working with individuals with acute and chronic conditions and is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, plan, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for member health needs.
  • Provides physician prescribed physical therapy under a plan of care established by the PT.
  • Improves or minimizes residual physical disabilities of the patient.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in physician assistant studies.
  • Current and unrestricted certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and successful maintain this certification.
  • Unrestricted prescribing and dispensing privileges with Drug Enforcement Agency licensure required.
  • No experience required. Experience working with vulnerable adult populations is preferred.
  • Up to date Fingerprint Clearance
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
Valid state driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance
  • The ability to drive to various locations and facilities to satisfy remote patient care needs.
