Join us in redefining musculoskeletal and spine medicine at Pacific Northwest Spine and Joint Physicians. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can provide extraordinary patient centered customer service and perhaps wants something different than large corporate medicine! We value quality of life and teamwork. This is a full time position with opportunity to complete hours over 4 or 5 weekdays. We are open to candidates who want to work part time (at least 30 hours per week require). Dr. Kirk Whetstone and Dr. Kasia Iwan are non-surgical spine and joint physicians (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain) who have created a small boutique type practice for injured patients, weekend warriors, and people with average aches and pains with musculoskeletal diagnoses and injuries.
Job Description:
Primary Role
- Primary responsibility includes completing follow up visits for established patients. This includes general follow ups and post procedure follow ups. These can be in person or via our embedded EMR telehealth platform.
- If desired, will train the candidate to perform simple joint procedures, trigger point injections, and shockwave treatments.
- Keep charts up to date including medical history and medications.
- Complete charts on all patient encounters including billing in a timely manner (within 2 business days)
- Interact with referring providers, team members, and patients as part of case management.
- Interact with insurance companies on an as needed basis including peer to peers (rare).
- Respond to patient requests/questions digitally or via phone with the assistance of staff when needed.
- Write orders for medications, prescribe PT/chiropractic/massage, order procedures, order durable medical equipment, refill medications, surgical referrals. We do not provide chronic opioid management.
- Attend team meetings.
- Assist physicians in implements safety protocols and general staff training when needed.
- Report directly to Kirk Whetstone MD, owner/manager
- Co-manage patients with Kirk Whetstone MD, Kasia Iwan MD
Requirements:
- High School Education (required)
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent (required)
- Graduate of approved A.N.A. Nurse Practitioner or AMA-approved PA training program or equivalent requirements to meet State licensure (required)
- Oregon state licensure in good standing (required)
- DEA number (can assist if you don’t have one)
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (preferred)
- Experience with electronic medical records (preferred)
- Customer Service Excellence (required)
- Great organization skills and can multitask (required)
