Full Job Description

About Small Town Pediatrics

The Small Town Pediatrics brand is small – warm, welcoming, and supportive. We know our patient families and they know us. Our vision is large – serving rural communities with modern convenience, asynchronous communication, and partnership with community leadership. Small Town Pediatrics is recognized as a highly valued asset by parents and other health system providers in the communities we serve

Working with Small Town Pediatrics

At Small Town Pediatrics you will have time to enjoy the bounty and diversity of the Pacific Northwest. Clinicians share call by telephone only – no hospital rounding. Our practice closes at 5:00 Monday through Thursday, with no office hours Friday afternoons and weekends. Full time is defined as 28 – 30 patient contact hours per week with a protected half-day for administrative time each week. Want a 3 day weekend? A work week of 4 days for full time work is possible, if desired.

Looking for more connection with your patient families than a 10 minute visit with your hand on the doorknob? Small Town Pediatrics is designed to be profitable seeing 12 patients per clinician per day. That allows us time to connect with and serve our families. Our focus is on preventive care and developmental guidance, as well as managing children with complex medical needs who don’t happen to live in population centers with tertiary care resources. Our capable team and smart scheduling ensures a good flow for the workday and support to meet our patients’ needs.

If you could deal with NextGen and Epic, you are going to love the intuitive nature of Physician’s Computer Company (PCC). PCC is an independent software solutions firm exclusively working to meet the needs of independent pediatricians. With 35 years serving pediatrics and thoughtful improvements, PCC helps Small Town Pediatrics efficiently manage our EHR.

  • Matched 401K Retirement with immediate vesting
  • Professional membership dues covered and a continuing education allowance
  • Oregon Qualified Student Loan Repayment & Forgiveness Program Site

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
  • Active DEA license to prescribe schedule II medications.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working with a pediatric population. Pediatric care in a family medicine setting will be considered.

Location Details

Small Town Pediatrics is hiring for Silverton and Independence/Monmouth. We have an established and growing practice in Silverton – adding multiple babies weekly. A new clinician can expect to be busy and build a panel quickly. Small Town Pediatrics opens in Polk County early 2024 at the Independence/Monmouth line. Small Town Pediatrics will be the ONLY pediatric practice in Polk County and there is much anticipation. This is a great opportunity for a provider to build reputation and a patient base.

Location Amenities

Both locations boast highly desirable family-oriented communities with “small town” living costs and an abundance of Pacific Northwest amenities. Do you like wine, craft beer, craft cocktails, an abundance of local seasonal agricultural products, fresh seafood, quaint and walkable downtowns, access to waterfalls and hiking? Would you like to live about an hour from Portland for “big city” shopping, dining, and arts? Or perhaps you prefer living an hour from Lincoln City and the coast? Maybe you just want your kids to attend one of the best school districts in the state…

Please note: We are a health care practice serving children. Immunization against preventable infectious diseases, including annual flu shots and appropriate coronavirus is important and expected for the candidate’s protection as well as protection of our patients and families.
