Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical histories to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, imaging procedures, and invasive procedures like catheterization or spinal taps.
- Administer injections, medications, and treatments including botulinum toxin therapy and other specialized procedures.
- Manage acute pain cases and participate in ventilator management for ICU and PICU patients.
- Document patient encounters accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform triage assessments in emergency or urgent care settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently.
- Support clinical research initiatives by collecting data, maintaining records, and participating in clinical trials related to infectious disease care or other specialties.
Requirements
- Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
- Proven experience working within hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers; ICU or emergency room experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with EMR systems like eClinicalWorks; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Competency in performing clinical procedures including suturing, phlebotomy, sterile technique, and basic life support (BLS).
- Experience administering injections and managing airway or ventilator support for critically ill patients.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute care settings.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on health coaching, discharge planning, pain management, and infection control protocols. Pay: $108,698.52 – $130,905.74 per year
